One important element in the Action Plan for implementing the Government key project on entrepreneurship and employment is to make the Team Finland network operate more effectively. On the domestic front the aim is for instance to incorporate the services provided by partners into the Team Finland range of services. In the international context, in turn, the aim is to pursue the one-stop-shop principle.
“If a company has a good product that isn’t protected, it’s sure to be copied – at least abroad. And worst of all, such copying may be perfectly legal,” Olli Ilmarinen, Development Expert at the Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH) points out.
The annual summary of the Team Finland network recounts milestones in the network’s activities in 2015 and describes how the network has helped individual companies internationalise. Cases include stories about Kyrö Distillery, Lignell & Piispanen and Noona Healthcare.
Prime Minister Sipilä met India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Mumbai, India. The main focus of the Prime Ministers' discussions was on the relations between Finland and India and on economic cooperation. Opportunities for cooperation exist in, for instance, solar energy and other renewable energy sources, sustainable development of cities, circular economy, education, and information technology.

The network was founded in the early 2000s. At that time it was realised that Finland’s success depends more than ever on companies’ international success, and that companies still need the state’s help on global markets.
